Pros and Cons

"Constitution Park"       Fort Lee NJ

I only saw metered parking ($0.25 per 7 minutes), so I think there are better parks to drive to. However, if you live in the area or are on a bicycle, it is definitely worth your time. The paved walkway is great for active recoveries inbetween sets at the main workout station. There are also small workout stations scattered along the walkway.

Features

Unique workout structure offering monkey bars, ladder, two pull up bars, many step platforms, great dip bars (tall and medium), backboards for wall ball, ab benches

Pros and Cons

Pros: Nice neighborhood, feels like Central Park in NYC as you are surrounded by tall buildings. Decently maintained bathroom. In downtown, so quick to squeeze in a workout while doing other errands.

Cons: Parking costs money. No other real cons except the pull up bars are also not my style.

"Overpeck Park" Leonia, NJ

This is a big park. Turn north on Overpeck Park Driveway or type in "Calisthenics Area Overpeck Park" in navigation and there is plenty of free parking in a few lots. Look for yellow bars.

Features

Many paved paths but the ones near the workout area is 0.6 miles and 0.3 miles.

Pros and Cons

Pros: Easy free parking, very well maintained bathroom facility, huge park with tons of activities, see gophers in the summer

Cons: Can get crowded, sometimes various types of groups will take over the pavilion area right beside the workout area. No lighting at night. I don't see food trucks there. Bathroom could be closer to workout area.

"James J Braddock North Hudson County Park" North Bergen, NJ

This is a huge park. The workout area is in the south east section of the park, street parking is usually easy but you may end up walking a few minutes if it's busy. It's next to the James J Braddock Memorial Statue.

"Goffle Brook Park" Hawthorne, NJ

This is a huge park. The workout area is in the south west section. Parking isn't great, check the 5 car lot near the "Ryerson House Monument" and if not, you can keep going whether it's north or south and take the next turn to park in those big, free lots. You just have to walk about 5-8 minutes now.

Features

Walking Path

Features

Two different height pull up bars

Medium and low bars

Great dip station

Several bodyweight workout machines

Pros and Cons

Pros: Bathroom facility in ok condition right there.

Cons: Parking isn't bad but isn't great either. Get's very crowded including a group that plays cricket very close to the workout area. The pull up bars are bad (personal opinion).

"Lincoln Harbor Park" Weehawken, NJ

Check for street parking along Harbor Blvd. If not, continue onto the main road (Port Imperial Blvd) and make the next right for the parking lot.
